Dr. J P Sukumar is currently Registrar of Tamilnadu Physical
Education and Sports University. Prior to this, he served as
Director of Physical Education in prestigious institutions like Anna
University, Chennai, Madras Christian College, Chennai and as Hockey
Coach in Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu, Chennai. He
Obtained his Doctorate in Physical Education and Master of
Philosophy from Alagappa University, Karaikudi and M.P.Ed., from
YMCA College of Physical Education, Chennai (Rank Holder). He has an
M.A. from Pachaiyappa's College, Chennai where he proved his mettle
as a Hockey player. He got graduated from VHSN College, Virudhunagar
where he was outstanding in Track and Field, Cricket and Hockey. He
has been a Hockey Coach, Sports Administrator, Researcher and a
Sports Consultant for over 25 years. He occupies positions in
various professional bodies and importantly as an adviser for the
GIVE LIFE - Chennai Marathon.
