Right to Information Act - 2005
The Right to Information Act-2005 has been enacted by the Parliament and has come into force from 15th June 2005.
This Act provides for the right to information for citizens to secure / access information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority.

How to Apply
The request in writing for obtaining information under Section 6(1) of the RTI Act 2005 must be accompanied by the prescribed application fee.
Application Fee
Rs. 10/- (Rupees Ten Only)
Mode of Payment
By Court Fee Stamp affixed to the application or through online payment.
It may be noted that no RTI fee is required to be paid by a citizen who is below poverty line, as per RTI Rules, 2005. However, the BPL applicant must attach a copy of the certificate issued by the appropriate government in this regard, along with the application.
